The 12 photo-graphs
The word “Photograph” is derived from the Greek photos (“light”) and graphein (“to draw”). This series consists of 12 photographs that are primitive and pure. These images came from various “unintentional actions,”such as a part of the film that was unexpectedly exposed and a cut that was taken by accidentally releasing the shutter. Therefore, there is no specific subject or theme in each image. However, by arranging the 12 photographs in a way related to the changing seasons, those abstract images will gradually become connected to scenes in our memories and then evoke their own stories.

「フォトグラフ」という言葉は、ギリシャ語のphotos (“光”) と graphein (“描く”)に由来する。 このシリーズは、原初的かつ純粋な１２枚の「photo-graph」で構成されている。これらのイメージは、予期せず感光したフィルムの一部や、不意にシャッターを切ってしまったカットなど、様々な“意図していない行為”から生まれたものである。そのため、それぞれのイメージの中には特定の被写体やテーマは存在していない。しかし、この１２枚を季節の移り変わりになぞらえて並べることによって、その抽象的なイメージが次第に私たちの記憶の中の光景と結び付き、各々の物語を想起させてくれるだろう。
